All of our passionate and dedicated teachers meet the highest international standards with formal qualifications and extensive experience in teaching academic English and preparing students for exams such as IELTS.

Our minimum requirements for teachers are:

  • education to degree level or equivalent qualification
  • a certificate level qualification in teaching English as a foreign language such as Cambridge University CELTA or Trinity College London CertTESOL
  • at least two years’ teaching experience
  • high proficiency in the use of the English language.

Anna Murray

English Teacher, British Council

Anna holds a degree in Theatre Studies, an MA in Cultural Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in University Pedagogy. She has recently obtained' a postgraduate diploma in English Teaching, specialising in English for Academic Purposes. Anna has worked as an advisor at Sorbonne Paris IV University for students applying to study abroad, has given workshops for Sorbonne students considering studying in Ireland, and has sat on the interview panel for students applying to CELSA Sorbonne Paris 4.

George Wilson

George Wilson

Head University Preparation Section, British Council

George has 15 years of experience teaching for higher-education institutions in France and Australia, including Sciences Po, Ecole Centrale and UNSW.

He is responsible for our CELTA teacher-training courses and also delivers DELTA training. He runs consultancy sessions for French higher-education institutions on bilingual curricula and trains lecturers in the use of English as a Medium of Instruction.

Ned Chambers

English Teacher, British Council

Ned has taught in universities and language teaching institutions in France for 6 years. He holds a degree in French and German and an MA in French Studies, as well as a postgraduate DELTA diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Ned has been working as one our centre’s Level Leads for the lycée students, helping to oversee the implementation of our new courses which place emphasis on the development of independent research, leadership and critical thinking skills.

Simon Handy - English language teacher

Simon Handy

English Teacher, British Council

Simon worked at top universities in Japan specialising in integrating 1st year students into the academic system at tertiary level. In France, he has worked at Sorbonne Paris IV and V. At the British Council his work is particularly focused on exam classes (FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS) and helping students to achieve their academic goals. He is currently completing his MSc in Teaching English in University Settings at the University of Oxford.
