We are thrilled to be hosting author and Professor of creative writing, Jake Lamar, who will talk about aspects of his varied international career. . 

Jake Lamar will give a talk on his life as a writer, from his youthful efforts, through his apprenticeship at Time magazine, to his 30 years of writing novels, theatre and radio plays, and managing a career in the USA, France and the UK.

What are "Talks in English"?

Our "Talks in English" series is organized as part of our English Centre activities and is open to all free of charge, upon registration and within the limits of available places.

We offer monthly Talks in English on different themes, given by our teachers and external speakers. Information about the upcoming events will be available on our website and social media networks.

We also offer refreshments at the end of the conference to allow participants to practice their English.

Jake Lamar

Jake Lamar is the award-winning author of a memoir, seven novels and a play. His most recent work, Viper’s Dream, is a crime novel set in the jazz world of Harlem between 1936 and 1961. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Jake Lamar has lived in Paris since 1993. He is a professor of creative writing at one of France’s top universities, Sciences Po.
