Bannière Talks in English
Date
Thursday 16 February 2023 - 19.00

Punk exploded the music scene in the UK in 1976. Come and join one of our expert teachers and musician, Chris Remick, who will describe the culture as well as the music scene from then until the end of Brit-pop in 1996.

In terms of music the focus will be on Manchester, but not exclusively, and will include clips from key bands which spanned the period, including the Sex Pistols, Joy Division and The Stone Roses.

The cultural context will also be explored, including political and global events of the period.

What are "Talks in English"?

Our "Talks in English" series is organized as part of our Teaching Centre activities  and is open to all free of charge, upon registration and within the limits of available places.

We offer monthly Talks in English on different themes, given by our teachers and  external speakers. Information about the upcoming events will be available on our website and social media networks.

We also offer refreshments at the end of the conference to allow participants to practice their English.
