Musée des Confluences

Situated on the confluence of the Rhone and the Saône, the Musée des Confluences is a place of encounters and dialogue where science, culture and history converge.

Unprecedented in the world of European museums, the Musée des Confluences tells the story of mankind and the history of life through different branches of science such as anthropology, palaeontology, ethnography or mineralogy.

This year the national final for FameLab France 2018 will be held in Lyon on 24 May at 7 PM at the Musée des Confluences.

The first agronomic research institute in Europe, the second in agricultural sciences in the world, INRA (National Institute for Agronomic Research) conducts research around major social issues - food, agriculture and the environment - considered in the broader context of the bioeconomy and food systems. The Institute brings together more than 1,800 researchers, 2,600 engineers and assistant engineers, 3,500 permanent technicians and administrative staff. Each year, it welcomes nearly 2,500 trainees and more than 500 doctoral students in its laboratories. The Institute is organised into 13 departments which animate and pilot the scientific work carried out in 184 research units and 45 experimental units in 17 centers throughout France, as well as in the West Indies and French Guiana.

ABG is a French association offering career development support for PhD graduates and also help for companies in connecting with and recruiting  these graduates. ABG’s job board advertises academic and industrial positons as well as training courses on career planning and strategies for job seeking. A new online skills portfolio for PhD’s “DocPro”www.mydocpro.org has recently been developed in partnership with the French Conference of University Presidents and the French professional association MEDEF (equivalent of The Confederation of British Industry CBI).
