  • Using Global Citizenship Education pedagogy to engage and challenge learners
This session will introduce a framework developed from classroom research at the British Council in Paris, using Global Citizenship Education (GCE) pedagogy alongside communicative language teaching. Attendees will learn how to use the framework in course design and teaching approach to incorporate 21st century skills including critical thinking and media literacy to engage and challenge B2+ learners.

Also, George Wilson, Head of English and School Education is leading a forum on Content and Language Integrated Learning, within which he will be delivering the following talk:

  • Strengthening CLIL practice in schools: insights from France and Europe
This talk will present key findings from the British Council’s recent research into the landscape of CLIL policy and practice in France. It will then share practical recommendations for strengthening CLIL implementation at primary and secondary levels, drawing on insights from a recent international workshop in Paris, co-organised with France Éducation international, which brought together teachers, school leaders, academics, policy makers and teacher educators from across Europe.
