Where can you take IELTS in France?

British Council offers IELTS tests in different locations: Aix-en-Provence, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice, Paris, Strasbourg and Toulouse. You can choose to take your IELTS test on paper or on a computer. Whichever you prefer, you will need to come to a test centre to sit your test. Find out more.

Please make sure that you are available on both Friday and Saturday when you choose your written test date.

Paris*

Speaking tests take place the week before the written test (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) or on the same day (i.e. on Saturday afternoon). 

Please make sure that you are available on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday when you choose your written test date.  Priority is given to candidates travelling from another department or minors on Saturdays.

If the written test is on a Thursday, then the Speaking test can take place on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. 

Institutions Speaking tests take place in the week before or after the date of your written tests, or on Saturday afternoon. Your institution will make sure that it fits in with your timetable. 

* Saturday Speaking tests will be given in priority to those candidates living outside of Paris as per the postal address indicated at registration.
